Jane Austen’s Persuasion is the last of her major novels to be written, published in 1817 by her family shortly after her death. It follows the love story of Anne Elliot and Captain Frederick Wentworth who had fallen in love eight years prior to the opening scene of the novel but Anne was persuaded not to marry by family and friends.
